Through her entire life, Sara Evans only held only one goal: perform and write country music. "God has placed me on this planet to be a singer," said Evans, as quoted by John Meroney of American Enterprise. "It is what I like doing the most which is why I'm bound to achieve success." Evans wanted to achieve success by revisiting the old country music that was popularized by Patsy Cline. Hank Snow. Tammy Wynette. George Jones. Also Patty Loveless. These musicians Evans considers to be her most influential sources of inspiration. Evans, who was born in 1970 made her debut in the mid 90s, the time when many of the country music's aspiring musicians turned their attention to pop tunes. The evidence is evident in her debut album in 1997, True Lies. Although it received a lot of praise and an award from the Academy of Country Music in 1998 for being the top female vocalist, True Lies made little significant impact. Thus, for her follow-up album the 1999 album No Place That Far, Evans accepted a plea from producers who convinced her to extend her repertoire and finally earned the popular appreciation she'd always wanted from the time she was a child. Sara Evans was born February 5, 1971, from Columbia, Missouri. She spent her early years together with six siblings and brothers.
